Department of Physics 

The Department of Physics is involved in teaching UG and PG students of Engineering and Science Programs. The department has highly qualified, motivated and experienced faculty. The department offers a three year M.Sc. (Tech.) Engineering Physics program with specializations in Photonics, Electronics and Instrumentation. The department is actively engaged in research and having a number of sponsored R&D projects. The areas of research include Luminescent materials, Nanomaterials,   Glasses and Glass ceramics, Biomaterials, Ferroelectrics, Magnetic materials, Polymer degradation studies, Photonics, Electronics, Biomedical Instrumentation and Radiation physics. The department has liaison with reputed industries and R&D organizations like BEL, CSIR, DRDO, DST, ELOIRA, RCI, ARCI etc.

 

National Institute of Technology Warangal

National Institute of Technology Warangal, formerly known as Regional Engineering College was established in 1959. Over the years it has developed into a premier institute of higher learning and is ranked among the top technical education institutions in India. There are 14 Departments offering 8 undergraduate and 31 post-graduate besides doctoral programs. About 5000 students across the country and about 500 international students study on the campus. It is a fully residential campus sprawling over 250 acres with excellent infrastructure in the form of state of the art library, seminar halls, guest houses and laboratories.

Luminescence Society of India (LSI)

Luminescence Society of India (LSI), formed in 1990, provides a forum for interaction for Indian scientists and technologists having affiliation to different universities and research institutions in the field of luminescence and their applications by organizing annual conferences regularly. Four international conferences were successfully organized wherein Indian researchers were joined by a large number of foreign scientists. During the past twenty five years, in addition to scientific sessions, there has been an increase in the participation of delegates from industry as exhibitors of their products and for technical presentations. Moreover rapporteur and oral sessions are being held regularly for the past 20 years in order to accommodate the papers of all participants in the technical sessions.
